Auxiliary
The ICS Auxiliary is open to spouses and relatives of ICS Fellows. The Auxiliary plays many roles in the College.
- Through the National Sections groups, an educational and cultural forum is created in each country with programs of particular interest to its members.
- The National Sections also function as a focal point for community benevolent programs organized by its members. For example, the Breast Cancer Awareness program of the Philippines' Auxiliary and the Surgical Scholarships awarded by the Japanese and Taiwan Sections.
- The Auxiliary groups take responsibility for the cultural activities at the meetings of the ICS Biennial Congresses.
- The Auxiliary is a source, through nationally-based fund-raising projects, for financial assistance to the College programs such as Research and Scholarships, Surgical Teams, and the International Museum of Surgical Science based in Chicago, USA.
- The Auxiliary solicits direct contributions from its members for the special Rose Marie Edelman Scholarship Fund.
The above is only a small portion of the worthwhile activities the Auxiliary is involved in to help the College reach its mission.
