Singapore Section
International IVF Workshops Series were very successfully held in Singapore under the guidance of Prof. Christopher Chen, at Gleneagles Hospital with a very large number of participants from various countries, namely: Pakistan , Malaysia , Indonesia , India , Hong Kong , Bangladesh and Singapore . This was the basis of the organization of several surgical teams which will contribute to the introduction of this technology in those countries.
2007
Thailand Section
The ICS Thailand Section this year in conjunction with the Department of Surgery, Khon Kaen University , has conducted a Urinary Track Stone Surgery project starting from March-October 2007 at Loei Hospital , in the province of Loei , in the northeast region of Thailand . The surgical team has visited the province on several occasions and helped cure many patients with kidney stones.
Dr. Gazi Zibari
Dr. Zibari has been going to Iraqi Kurdistan annually for one month. He has helped with medical student and resident education, introduced laparoscopic surgery to Kurdish/Iraqui surgeons. Opened a renal transplant unit in Erbil , the Kurdish capital and they performed 26 living related kidney donors from July 2006 to June 2007. In addition, he has helped them to open advanced Hepatopancreatobiliary Center in the city of Sulymaneh where complex cases of liver/pancreases/biliary are referred to them from all over Iraq and complex surgery is done at that center.
